Alejo's Italian Restaurant

I know everyone has a favorite Italian food place they frequent or favor, but I kid you not the best Italian I've had since being in L.A. is a place on the west side (Westchester), call Alejo's.

This institution has been around for years and serves THE BEST Italian food for the price.  It's "super" kid friendly which is also a must..right?  They have two locations, but we prefer the "bigger" (Westchester) location as parking is crap at the smaller location (it's located next to a 7-11 mini-mall (Marina Del Rey/Venice) and can get seedy at night..remember, the parking must be there also..right?  We've been to both and the food taste just the same, so no worry about that.

They bring out this delicious potato bread that you dip in a fresh garlic and olive oil dip..it's the bomb.  The servings of their pasta dishes are plentiful.  For a family of four, us, we get one large pasta dish and a large pizza..sure we have left over..but another reason to go big..Alejo's leftovers..you can enjoy it twice..and I end of finishing it at the house anyhow.  Their famous dish is the Tracciatella a la Mare (homemade spinach fettuccini with chicken, shrimp, calamari, onions & roasted peppers in a garlic tomato wine sauce)..the sauce is like crack..I'm not kidding..dip that potato bread in the sauce..OMG.  Oh yeah, you can also bring you're own wine and they'll serve it to you (I wonder if you can bring your own beer?)

If you're just a couple then the MDR location will probably suffice (but be advised of the crappy parking and area), but if you have kids or a bigger party go the the Westchester one as there is more room to navigate around in the restaurant and more parking.  Anyway, you haven't had Italian until you check out Alejo's.
