Let's Glaze!

We decided to do some craft stuff today and checked out a glaze and paint store.  This was my first time, kids have already done it at school, but basically you go and pick out what kind of pottery you want (they have a bunch ranging from mugs to dishes and everything in between).  We went to a place in Long Beach called Paint-N-Glaze.  After you pick your item to glaze, then you pick your colors and then you sit down.  Everything is provided for including the brushes and stencils

Once you get your colors then you are set to start!  The hardest part was actually stenciling in the design you want, unless you want to freestyle, and took the longest to do.  Once you have the map work done you just basically paint in your design.  Honestly, after the colors were applied it looked rather ugly and messy. Once your done you give it to the people working there and then they'll fire it up and put it in the kiln.  Turn around time is about a week, but once your done it looks like a completely different piece of work..amazing!
